Hey everyone! Thank you for your support and for reading my blog this month. It's been such a blessing to see God working in the lives of students (and my own) so I'm incredibly thankful for your generosity and your sharing of the same Kingdom vision that I have!       At the beginning of the month we had a staff development retreat! Most students were home for the holidays so we had some extra time to get together as a staff and get to know each other more and prepare for the semester. I really enjoyed this time. The Focus staff really feels like another family for me, so it was awesome to get to spend extended time with them, which has been so hard to come by this year because of the pandemic. We spent a good chunk of our time together discussing this book called Money and Power by Jacques Ellul. If you want to read something that will shake up the way you think about using money, go read this and get back to me about it!     This is a picture one of our Collin Focus staff

Hey everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! I just wanted to update you on my life and ministry this last month, so here's my blog for December. This month was a blast! Thank you so much for reading this months blog and for supporting me.  https://www.facebook.com/1679994160/videos/10215711170367165/ ^ you can use this link to watch the live-stream on FB. If it doesn't work just reach out to me.     This month we had another worship night! The last one went so well that we had to do it again before the semester was over. These worship nights have really helped our community to stay connected since we can't meet as regularly as we would like to. They also give us a chance to worship God as a group, which is really important to us. I'm looking forward to many more of these next semester as we, as a ministry, try to navigate reaching out to and developing students during a pandemic.      This month I got to go to Six Flags! I had never been bef

Hey Everyone! Thank you for reading my ministry blog this month and supporting me financially and with prayer to be able to do ministry. It's been such a blessing to see God working in the lives of students (and my own) so I'm incredibly thankful for your generosity and your sharing of the same Kingdom vision that I have!       Picture time!      These pictures are all from doing outreach on campus this month. We were having a hard time connecting and engaging with students so I started setting up games and inviting students to play at a consistent time each week. This has been really neat so far! Already in the last month I've been able to meet many people that I wouldn't otherwise have a chance to because they don't have any other reason to hang out on campus. This month alone more than a few students have joined a core and are being poured into spiritually on a regular basis because the Spirit was working through these outreach events. This is so exciting to m

October

Hey Friends! Thank you for reading my ministry blog this month!   October went by really fast and I think this was the first month that I really got into a routine with meetings, classes, studying, and everything else. At this point, you've heard about most of the stuff I do in a regular week at least once, so I figured I'd focus this blog more on what was special to this last month. This first picture is from the Northeast church in Wylie on Sunday morning. This specific community within the Northeast church body is connected to the Focus ministry at Collin College. All of the Focus pastors at Collin attend this church, so I began joining the Sunday morning zoom calls back in May. But since then we have started meeting in person again (outside and with safety measures of course). I've really loved getting to meet some of these people in person for the first time! Also, it's another opportunity to worship and participate in communion with a body of believers. I think we

Hey everyone!  Thanks for taking the time to read my September blog!      I just want to say thank you so much for being on my support team and allowing me to do campus ministry this year. I've been reflecting on just how much of a blessing it is to be able to work hard at something that is important and life-changing. I thank God for all of you!     Here's what I've been up to...  Core:     This is (part) of the small group that I've been helping lead this year so far. We meet at a park in downtown Plano every week on Fridays at 1 pm. I really love these guys and I'm so glad that they've invested some of their time into this community. They come from very different backgrounds and have diverse personalities, which can make pastoring them more challenging, but honestly I think our diversity seriously enriches our experience as we try to push each other to be more like Jesus.   Hey everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my ministry blog for this last month. It's been a busy month and a lot of stuff has happened. Let's get to it! I also want to thank you for supporting me prayerfully and financially, making it possible for me to do this this year. I've LOVED  getting to reach out to students on campus everyday and I have faith that God is using all that hard work, even though I have not been able to see much fruit yet and sometimes it does not feel  like much is happening. The seeds of faith are being planted and there will be a harvest this year! I talked about this in my last update, but the month started with two weeks of classes on the Old Testament      Towards the beginning of classes, one of the pastors in our community described what it was like to closely study the OT by comparing it to tectonic plates shifting under the surface of the Earth. That picture definitely explains what is happening to me as I read, study, an
