Exciting start for Richland Focus!

Image
Hey! I hope you're doing well!       Here's a look into what I've been up to and all the exciting things going on in our Focus community at Richland.      But before that I just want to say thank you so much for investing in the lives of college students and partnering with me in ministry for the next year! You are such a blessing to me as I literally couldn't be on campus without you backing me. I'm very grateful for you and for your investment into our little community. Thank you!     Here's what we have going on!        This is our CORE as of the first week! I'm super excited to get to know all of these guys more. In our first core everyone got to share our life stories, at least in as much time as we had. I found out that all of us are from a different country, which is super exciting. Also, just in our first meeting everyone expressed their excitement about and need for friendships. I can't wait to get to know these guys throughout the year a

Summer Newsletter

Hey there!  Here's my summer newsletter! I wanted to give you a better insight into the campus I'll be serving this next year and how you can be praying for me and the students that will be walking through the doors come August 23rd, since that's been my focus lately anyway.  Also, for those of you who have recently joined my ministry support team (or if you are continuing on since last year) -  Thank you so much for investing in the lives of college students and partnering with me in ministry for the next year! You are such a blessing to me as I literally couldn't be on campus without you backing me. I'm very grateful for your investment and I pray that God would work powerfully through our ministry to introduce many students to Jesus and make disciples out of the students who have already met Him. (from left to right: Sandra, Connor, Claire, Sirak, me!)     This is our Richland team for the year (except Connor will mostly be helping plant a ministry at another c

April and May Ministry Update

Image
Hey there! I hope you’re doing well! Things have been really busy around here as we wrapped up the school year and got prepared for the summer. My schedule is finally slowing down now so I wanted to give you a combined April and May update. This picture is from one of our last core meetings this year. I love these guys and I’m excited that they are becoming such good friends and growing so much. Also, here’s a fun fact: it down-poured and flooded this room right after we took this picture so we had to scram out of there. Three of my roommates: Paul (in blue), Adam (in maroon), and Casey (in gray) decided to dog-pile on Max, while I took a picture. I’m so thankful I got to live with these guys! They are such a fun group and have been good friends to me this year. This was taken just a week before Adam got married and moved out to live with his new wife, so he no longer lives with us, but the rest of us will be staying in the same apartment for this next year. This picture comes from one

March

Hey there! I hope you’re doing well! Here’s your monthly highlight-reel from my ministry - let me know what you think!    Hanging In The Park Since we still can’t meet indoors, we’ve been enjoying the warmer weather outside a lot lately as a ministry. I think it’s important that we do whatever we have to do to be together even if it is outside and socially distanced for now - makes me think of Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Here’s some pictures from our hangouts this month! Our Collin Staff Team! I’ve really loved working with these people this year as we try our best to serve the Collin College campuses. They have challenged me in so many ways and I’m really grateful for the guidance they have given me as I try to figure out what it looks like to be campus missionary and pa

February

Hello! I hope you had a good February! Thanks for reading my blog for this last month. February was kind of a crazy month for all of us I think, you know with the week of rolling blackouts during the snowstorm and everything. For me, it seemed to fly by really quickly - I can't believe it's already March. Here are some of the special things that went on this month: 1. Core Core has been going really well this semester. Our little small group has been growing and I'm really excited for the rest of the semester with these guys. I'm already really impressed with how faithful they've been to meeting up with one another and how willing they are to engage in really meaningful conversations. I would appreciate you praying for the Spirit to be with us as we meet together and for all of us to live more like the Jesus we are learning about during core. Here's a picture from this semester: 2. Tuesday hang (weekly outreach event) Every week on Tuesday we've be

Hey everyone! Thank you for your support and for reading my blog this month. It's been such a blessing to see God working in the lives of students (and my own) so I'm incredibly thankful for your generosity and your sharing of the same Kingdom vision that I have!       At the beginning of the month we had a staff development retreat! Most students were home for the holidays so we had some extra time to get together as a staff and get to know each other more and prepare for the semester. I really enjoyed this time. The Focus staff really feels like another family for me, so it was awesome to get to spend extended time with them, which has been so hard to come by this year because of the pandemic. We spent a good chunk of our time together discussing this book called Money and Power by Jacques Ellul. If you want to read something that will shake up the way you think about using money, go read this and get back to me about it!     This is a picture one of our Collin Focus staff

December

Hey everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! I just wanted to update you on my life and ministry this last month, so here's my blog for December. This month was a blast! Thank you so much for reading this months blog and for supporting me.  https://www.facebook.com/1679994160/videos/10215711170367165/ ^ you can use this link to watch the live-stream on FB. If it doesn't work just reach out to me.     This month we had another worship night! The last one went so well that we had to do it again before the semester was over. These worship nights have really helped our community to stay connected since we can't meet as regularly as we would like to. They also give us a chance to worship God as a group, which is really important to us. I'm looking forward to many more of these next semester as we, as a ministry, try to navigate reaching out to and developing students during a pandemic.      This month I got to go to Six Flags! I had never been bef
