October 2021: More than Halfway through the Year!

Hey there!

I hope you’re doing well! Things have been really busy over at Richland Focus. As I've been looking back to all that happened in the last month, I'm thinking "Gosh, that happened in October?!"

But God has been really faithful to us, despite all the craziness.
Here’s a monthly highlight-reel from my ministry - let me know what you think!

These wholesome pics are from Fall camp back in early October. we had about 25 students come out to stay overnight at Mt. Lebanon Camp in Cedar Hill, Texas. It was a super encouraging time for me because we had a lot of time set aside for the students to share how they have been experiencing God in their own lives. The camp went really well in that a lot of students said they really enjoyed the experience and that it was a very impactful time for them. I definitely left feeling reassured and encouraged that God has been very faithful to our ministry.

This is our full worship band practicing before our fellowship night one week. They call themselves "pandemic praise" because they formed last year. As you can see we got a couple guitar players, a bassist, a cajon player, and even someone on a saxophone. (from left to right: Erika, Jacob, Nathan, Benji, and Sirak)

We hosted a Halloween party! It was a ton of fun and we even had Chiloso (a good Tex-Mex place) cater the event for free!

I just wanted to include this picture because I love it! The guy making the peace sign is Dayo. He's super sweet and a great fiend!

Here are some pics from our campus connect time. We've been working really hard to connect with our campus each week with different events or specific questions we want to engage students in conversation about. One week we handed out hot cocoa and got people's numbers that were interested in learning more about our ministry. Another week we asked people the question: "Who do you think Jesus is?" and had them put their answer on a sticky note. Please be praying that God would lead people to us and that He would lead us to the people He wants us to meet on campus!

Thank you so much for reading through this and I hope you enjoyed all the pictures! Your investment into this community matters and I want to thank you for choosing to bless me, our other pastors, and especially the students on our campus that need Jesus!

God bless,
Joey
