November

Hey Everyone!

Thank you for reading my ministry blog this month and supporting me financially and with prayer to be able to do ministry. It's been such a blessing to see God working in the lives of students (and my own) so I'm incredibly thankful for your generosity and your sharing of the same Kingdom vision that I have!

    Picture time!

These pictures are all from doing outreach on campus this month. We were having a hard time connecting and engaging with students so I started setting up games and inviting students to play at a consistent time each week. This has been really neat so far! Already in the last month I've been able to meet many people that I wouldn't otherwise have a chance to because they don't have any other reason to hang out on campus. This month alone more than a few students have joined a core and are being poured into spiritually on a regular basis because the Spirit was working through these outreach events. This is so exciting to me because I know the average college experience for these young people and it does not lead them down the Jesus-following path that gives life. Please pray with me that we would reach more and more students that are hungry and thirsty for something different than the ways of this world and that we, as a ministry, would faithfully show them the bread of life and the fountain of living water in Jesus.

This is Pedro - one of our finest campus pastors - on a day where we wore almost the same outfit. In the background you can see some of our student leaders on the guys side because this was taken before one of our weekly leader meetings. I just wanted to take the time to honor Pedro because he has been such a consistent minister and friend to me this year so far. He has helped me process through countless jumbled thoughts and challenged me graciously to look more like Christ. I strive to be as wise yet humble as this man right here. Thank you for everything Pedro! Love ya!

This feels like forever ago now, but this month we had our first Collin worship night of the year (hint hint - there will be more to come). At the beginning of November we invited the entire community out into the cold to play games, worship, and hear a sermon about who Jesus is together for a few hours. This was really special to me because as the first community-at-large event of the year, it was my first ever time seeing the entire Collin Focus community in one place - what a beautiful sight! It was also the first large event that I got to help run as part of the staff team so it was really cool to see the whole team work together and put together something really special for our students (by the grace of God).

Some meaningful verses and

songs to me this month:

  - Psalm 139: 23-24

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

    - John 17: 20-23

My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

    - Hidden by United Pursuit ft. Will Reagan - give this one a listen. It's real good.

Prayer requests:

  1. That I would grow to be a more humble and patient minister - the Lord has been laying these things on my heart recently as I've learned more and more how He works in humility and patience.
  2. That God would bless our communities with health and protect us from the virus in the coming months.

Thank you again for reading and for praying for me and my ministry. I would love it if you were to send me prayer requests so that I can pray specific prayers for you! Love you all!
